Hands down the nicest place I’ve ever stayed! The staff was very well mannered, very courteous and professional with amazing hospitality from everyone we interacted with! The hot tub outside was very lovely and clean, even in the cold months, the jets in the tub made for a bougie-feeling bubble bath, the shower was very spacious, bed was the coziest I’ve had at a stay away from home, and the fireplace made the whole room feel like home. The hot chocolate bar was a nice addition for the holidays, and the complimentary gifts brought joy each time they were handed to me. Would definitely stay here again:) the cost of the room and experience is worth every penny!

I have stayed in many fine hotels all across the country but this one really stands out. Every member of staff we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. I have never encountered such an amazing staff that went above and beyond. Especially Calvin and his mini me Jacob at the front and Annie our waitress in the restaurant. The courtesy chauffeur Craig(?) gave us a lovely tour of the city. There is such a coziness and warmth to the hotel because it used to be a Gilded Age home. The views are incredible and each room is so beautifully done, especially the Louis XIV room where we stayed. The restaurant food was truly amazing. The Chanler omelette is one of the best omelettes I’ve ever eaten. Their location is perfectly botched on the cliffs with easy access to the cliff walk. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Will definitely hope to come back again in my lifetime.

We stayed here for our 5th wedding anniversary and it exceeded expectations. The ocean-facing room was beautifully decorated and incredibly quiet. Waking up and walking straight onto the Cliff Walk with coffee in hand felt surreal. Staff left a handwritten note and complimentary champagne, which made the stay feel personal. Service was attentive but never intrusive.

This hotel far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional—warm, genuine, and consistent throughout our stay. We spent more time at the property than we usually do because every dining experience was so memorable. The tasting menu at Cara was extraordinary—creative, delicious, with perfect service. Breakfast at Remy’s on the patio overlooking the water was another highlight, with attentive service that made it feel special. We also enjoyed evenings in the wine garden and a wonderful dinner at the bar, where Kevin kept the atmosphere lively and welcoming, even on a busy night. As guests, we always felt valued and cared for, which is rare these days. Our room was beautifully appointed with luxurious linens and every amenity we could want, making it as comfortable as it was elegant. The mansion setting on the Cliff Walk is stunning, but what truly sets this property apart is the combination of outstanding service and exceptional food and drink. It is a rare gem—beautiful, welcoming, and unforgettable.

When my husband booked this location I thought Wow thats expensive. He didn't tell me about the cost because he knows I wouldn't have said yes to spending that much a night. Im more frugal lol OK that being said, this hotel is amazing in every way. I was worried I wasn't fancy enough but the staff wasn't fake nice they were genuine and kind and interesting. This is important to me . The historical beauty was stunning. The lawn and the view! The easy access to the beach and the cliff walk was perfect. The food was delicious! I couldn't say more!

An unforgettable honeymoon experience! We spent two nights at The Chandler at Cliff in Newport this past October for our honeymoon, and it was absolutely magical. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, personal, and attentive — they truly made us feel special. The hotel itself is stunning — elegant, historic, and perched right on the cliffs with breathtaking ocean views. The location alone is worth the trip, but what really stood out was the food. The lobster was hands-down some of the best we’ve ever had — fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Everything about our stay felt thoughtful and unique, from the charming rooms to the little details that made our celebration feel extra memorable. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to start our married life. Highly recommended for a romantic getaway or special occasion. We’ll definitely be back!

Above average hotel. Beautiful and a bit funky. Some rooms have a fabulous view and balcony. Others have no view or balcony. Choose wisely!!
